Carnival Cruise soda package travel mug?

My husband and I just got back ( Nov. 14, 2008 ) from our very first cruise. We bought the soda packages and they gave us travel mugs and told us for unlimited soda we had to have the mugs. My question is Do other cruise lines do this also? Carrying around the mug was a bit aggravating.

yes. a lot of cruises use the soda package

The room card it very easy and you just had to put sticker on your room card it.
