I’m concidering working on a cruise ship in my gap year, probably as a kennel worker or a photographer (if there are no kennels!) and i was wandering if anyone could give me any advise on what it’s like and weather i should go for it. I think of the job as exciting, and an easy way to travel around the world and getting payed for doing it! So, any tips of advise?

The cruise makes port calls to the following countries Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt. I’ve heard conflicting information about the need for getting a visa in Egypt in advance. I’m told that I don’t need a visa (I’m a US citizen); but my Japanese companion does need a visa. Someone else told me that we don’t need a visa for the Japanese national. does anyone out there know the answer? my cruise ship company is surprising unhelpful.

Seeking advise on things to see and do. The ship stops at these three ports; Puerto Vallarta,mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. I don’t want to go to the bars,also don’t like wandering around among gift shops. What would you recommend I do for about 8 hours while ashore? I will be going in may 07 ,and I am the outdoor type ,married, male. Any non foolish advise would be greatly appreciated.
